Dear Bowie High School Community:

You’ve heard the phrase, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” That is true in more ways than one. What makes this an especially wonderful time is that we can set aside moments to appreciate the special people in our lives. At Bowie High School that can be a gargantuan task, as there are so many special people to thank. That includes: 1. The teachers who have been working tirelessly all year to provide exemplary instruction and to find new and exciting ways to teach their material. 2. Other staff members who have gone above and beyond, by mentoring, coaching and supporting students, parents and other staff members. 3. The support staff who pave the way for the excellence that happens at Bowie. 4. The students for applying themselves to scholarship and for working hard to maintain the dynasty of excellence at Bowie. This year we had 1,014 students on our Honor Roll and 125 students who had 4.0 or above! That is a feat well worthy of celebration! 5. The parents who support us graciously by making sure we have correct information, by coming to PTSO meetings, by regularly checking mygradebook.com, and yes, by even baking us cookies. It is truly my pleasure to work with you all. To continue our upward trend, there are some important things for parents to think about for the days ahead.  Remember you can now enter your email addresses directly onto the My Accounts tab on mygradebook.com.  Please remember to drop students off at the front of the building to ensure their safe arrival into classes. The back of the building is off limits until 7:40 a.m.  Registration is coming! Remember that at Bowie, we encourage all students to take four years of math. It is really important that all students pass the H.S.A. in all core subjects. For studentswho fail an H.S.A. course or exam, it is mandatory that they complete an H.S.A. tutoring program.
