EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Position: Director of Annual Giving (The Dwight School Foundation) Reports to: Director of Development

Position Description: The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for managing and increasing an Annual Fund (including the Senior Gift) of approximately $1.6M and for collaborating with the Director of Development to raise capital gifts for endowment and facilities projects. The Director of Annual Giving will interact frequently with the Dwight School Foundation Board of Trustees.

Requirements and Responsibilities of Position: Annual Giving:  Develop and implement plan for increasing total Annual Fund giving and participation rates among all constituencies  Coordinate plan with development calendar and other fundraising initiatives  Recruit and oversee Annual Fund Committee, Senior Gift Committee, and other volunteers as needed  Use prospect research to develop appropriate targets and solicitation strategies  Solicit constituents for Annual Fund gifts as needed  Organize and help produce (with the Communications Department) all Annual Fund materials and communication  Oversee all processing and acknowledgement of Annual Fund gifts  Plan and execute Annual Fund donor and volunteer cultivation events  Produce relevant Annual Fund content for publications  Produce internal and external progress reports  Evaluate the overall success of the Annual Fund

Major Gifts:  Assist Director of Development to implement plan for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors  Assist with production and organization of all major gift materials and communication  Assist with planning and execution of major gift donor and volunteer events

Office Management:  Work closely with Database Manager/Development Associate to ensure timely and effective completion of all responsibilities

Additional Responsibilities:  Assist the Development staff as needed to support alumni affairs, spring benefit, and other initiatives Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least five (5) years relevant experience in fundraising, preferably in education. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Candidate should also have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills as well as experience working on teams and managing volunteers. Good computer skills, including Raiser’s Edge, are essential. Extensive international experience a plus.

Relationship of Job to Other Jobs: Reports to Director of Development. Works closely with Trustees, Advancement Office staff, and Dwight School Faculty/Staff, especially the Communications Office staff. Communicates regularly with Dwight parents, alumni, faculty/staff, and other constituencies.
