What will I need for class? (Chemistry and ICP)

 Writing utensil and paper – bring them to class each day!

CHEMISTRY ONLY :  A scientific calculator ($10 at Walmart) – bring it to class every day! HAVE THIS BY MONDAY, AUGUST 11th!  2-inch 3-ring binder

Class Rules: (Chemistry and ICP)

 Come to class prepared and ON TIME!  CELL PHONES are to be silenced and put away during the class period!  FOOD,CANDY/GUM OR DRINK IN THE CLASSROOM/LABORATORY ARE NOT PERMITTED!  RESPECT each other!!!!!!  BE ON TASK! Begin BELL WORK after the tardy bell; work on HOMEWORK at the end of the period when class time is given.  Take care of PERSON BUSINESS before or after class (restroom privileges will be granted for emergencies only!)  Always strive to be the best student you can be each day.

Bell Work:(Chemistry and ICP)

Each day, following the tardy bell, students will work on an introductory activity. The activity will be posted on the whiteboard, and completed on a Bell Work sheet. Bell Work will be handed in at the end of each week and scored. What is the Grading Policy: (Chemistry and ICP)

Your final grade will be determined using the following scale –

A+= 99-100% B+= 88- 89% C+= 78- 79% D+ = 68-69% A = 98-92% B = 87- 82% C = 77-72% D = 67-62% A-= 91-90% B-= 81-80% C-= 71-70% D-= 61-60%

Weighted Grades:(Chemistry and ICP)

30% **Class work, and **Homework 50% Tests/Quizzes and **Labs 20% Binders/Bell Work

**Late work will be accepted for half credit until the assignment is passed back. Once the assignment is handed back, late work will not be accepted.

Tardy Policy

Students will sign in on the “tardy board” (clip board) upon entering the class room.

3 tardies = 1 day detention

4 tardies = 2 days detention

5 tardies = Dean referral
