Town of Topsham STORM PUBLIC UPDATE

This update provides current information for Topsham residents regarding storm recovery efforts.
Emergency Declaration
As a precaution, Town Manager, Richard Roedner, signed an Emergency Declaration on Wednesday, October 30. This declaration gives the Town’s Administrative staff, and Emergency Management Director, the ability to move faster on emergency purchases or hiring. It is not anticipated that any such actions will be required.
Outages
CMP is now reporting (10 a.m.) 838 customers in Topsham without power, down from over 3,000 on Tuesday evening. Outages are generally listed as due back on by Nov. 4 (Saturday), with some listed as “Assessing”, including Ward Road, Woodland, Tracy, Townsend, Sunward, Sunset, Shellenbarger, Richard, Retriever Run, Pets, Patten, Palmer, Osprey, Nellie, Meadow Cross, Larrabee, Lady Slipper, Foster, Foreside, Eric, Eliot, Eastern Terrace, East Bay Bridge, E. Merrill, Delray, Country, Cornish, Cider Run, Brookside, Bergquist, Beaver Pond, Avon, Apple Grove, Alora, Alden Island, and Adams Landing.
Warming Sites
Sites include:
Topsham Police Department lobby, charging station and water Topsham Public Library (9 am to 8 pm), charging station, WiFi, bathrooms Mt. Ararat High School (4 pm to 8 pm), charging station, showers, WiFi
Shelters
Sagadahoc County has opened a shelter at the Bath Foresquare Church, 405 Centre Church, with food, sleeping, warming, charging
Schools
SAD 75 remains closed to students today.
Roads
Several roads remain partially or fully closed: West Wind – closed to traffic, alternate route has been established via Turkey Run subdivision and gravel road back to main road Foreside – partially closed, due to low wires River Road – partially closed, due to low wires Pleasant Point – closed due to downed wires on pavement
Traffic Signals
Bypass Drive – signals still operating on generator
Debris
DPW is planning to begin collecting residential debris next week, and will continue until snow flies.
Solid Waste
Still without power, but accepting materials. Solid Waste and recycling is being stored in roll-off containers, and will be shipped when full. Ed Caron, Solid Waste Director, is working to have an additional container brought in to handle weekend solid waste.
