Presents..... Free Training Session Attention Landlords: Got Hoarding?

The Carver County CDA is hosting a Free Training Session for Carver County landlords! Join us on Thursday, November 9, 2017 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Chaska Community Center 1661 Park Ridge Drive Community Room A

Laurence C. Harmon, Attorney at Law/Certified Property Manager

Will present a free training on the Hoarding Disorder.

Hoarding Disorder has been part of the handicap/disability protected class since May, 2013, when it was added to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, which is the standard classification of disorders used by U.S. mental health professionals. This means, of course, that apartment residents who hoard cannot immediately be evicted when their behavior is discovered. Instead, their protected class status guarantees a “reasonable accommodation” of their disability, which is a “waiver or change in policies, practices and services to provide equal access and opportunity in housing for persons with (a hoarding disability).”

You will have an opportunity to ask questions of our presenter, who is an expert in his field. Please join us for this informative session on the hoarding issue as it relates to today’s rental environment.
