New City Kids Presents~ The Dreamer: On Sunday, April 19th at 4:30 PM at the Liberty Corner Church in Liberty Corner, NJ; on Friday, April 24, at 7:30 PM, at ECHS in North Haledon; and on Saturday, April 25, at 4:30 & 7:30 PM, at New City Kids Church in Jersey City, NCKC presents The Dreamer, a reenactment of the story of Joseph set in modern day Jersey City. This is the biggest and most exciting performance done all year, and we want you to experience the talent behind New City Kids. It’s going to be a great, fun, inspiring, and worshipful evening, so don’t hesitate to invite family and friend! GEMS Chicken Parmesan Dinner: On Saturday, April 25, our area GEMS Girl’s Clubs will host a delicious chicken parmesan dinner at Midland Park CRC. Continuous dining room service from 5 ~ 7 PM and take out will be available beginning at 4:30 PM. Proceeds benefit the 2015 GEMS Leadership Conference. The Brass Factory: This Brass Factory, a British-style brass band, plays a challenging band literature and strives for a very high performance level. We currently have openings for a few more cornets, one Eb horn, two baritone horns, one trombone, and a tuba. Our rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings in Wyckoff. If interested, contact Robert F. Grace Bible Church: You are invited to join us for a trip to Sight and Sound in Lancaster, PA, to see the production of “Joseph” on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Veritas Christian Academy: Will present an all-student production of Annie: The Musical at the Sparta Evangelical Free Church on April 24 and 25. This is a classic show that you will not want to miss! The show on Friday begins at 7 PM; Saturday will have two shows at 2 and 7 PM. Tickets are $10 each in advance and $15 at the door. -CHRISTIAN HEALTH CARE CENTER- Faith & Grief Workshop: The Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff is holding a special Faith & Grief Workshop, from 9 AM to 3 PM, Saturday, April 23, in the CHCC Auditorium. This workshop is for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one. Whether someone is standing in raw grief, navigating the chaos of grief’s confusion, or recovering from a recent ambush of grief, this workshop is for him/her. Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of resident activities at the Longview Assisted Living Residence. A male volunteer is needed to assist with a monthly men’s program, sharing a hobby or collection, or doing a simple woodworking project. Volunteers with musical talents are needed to perform for residents. Volunteers who enjoy working with the elderly are needed to share a game, conversation, or share their hobby or collections with the residents. One resident has requested a volunteer guitar instructor. Any of the above volunteer opportunities can be for one time, once a quarter, once a month, or weekly, depending on the volunteer’s preferences and availability. If you are interested, call Cheryl Wolf, Longview Activities Director, at 201-848-4308. - EASTERN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL ASSOCIATION – Global Missions in your own home: The American Experience is currently seeking host families for international students aged between 13 and 18 for their 2015 summer program, which will take place July 18 ~ August 5. Many of these students have never heard the gospel and this is a great opportunity for global missions in your own home. As hosts, you will offer an opportunity to discover America through your eyes and your family will not only gain a new family member, but learn about a different culture, its values and traditions, as well as language, food, and more. The international students will be in school every weekday. Families will need to provide room and board and a safe, loving environment in the evenings and weekends. If you are interested in learning more about how your family can get involved, the EC International Office is sponsoring a Host Family Information Night on Monday, April 27, at 7:30 PM in the ECHS Media Center. Host families are not only a blessing to our international students, they also receive a blessing for performing this valuable service.
