ELIGIBILTY 1. Any UNO student, part-time or full-time faculty/staff member, Wellness Center member or theirs spouses are eligible to participate provided they have a current Wellness Center activity card. 2. ALL PLAYERS MUST SHOW A CURRENT UNO I.D. OR CURRENT FACULTY, STAFF, ALUMNI, METRO, AND METHODIST I.D. CARD BEFORE EACH GAME. "NO I.D., NO PLAY" a. *Metro Students and Methodist students please review Intramural Student Handbook for procedures* 3. Intercollegiate athletic team members are ineligible to compete in the same or related sport. 4. Members of sport clubs are allowed to participate in the respective intramural sport, however, a maximum of two sport club members is allowed on any one intramural team. You are considered a sport club member for 1-year after your sport club membership ends. SPORTSMANSHIP 1. All teams are required to maintain a 3.50 sportsmanship to be eligible for playoffs. Any team who receives two “3” ratings in the playoffs will be eliminated, regardless of whether they won or not. Any team who receives a “2” or lower rating in the playoffs will be eliminated regardless of whether they won or not. TIME 1. GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME. Teams should report to the Intramural staff a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the scheduled game time to check in for the scheduled game. 2. Matches are rally scoring, best of 3 games to 21 points win by 2 or first to 25. 3. If a third game is necessary it will be to 15 points win by 2 or first to 20. 4. Both teams are allowed 2 timeouts of 1 minute each per match.
PLAYERS 1. A legal team is 6 players. A team must have a minimum of 3 players to begin a game. 2. The difference in gender may be no more than 1. Example: 3 women: 2 men
EQUIPMENT 1. No jewelry is allowed (watches, earrings, necklaces, etc.) 2. No hats, bandannas, or other similar headgear is allowed. 3. Regulation volleyballs will be provided by the office of Campus Recreation, however each team can play with their own ball if agreed upon by both teams
Revised 9/2/14 1 PLAY 1. Captains will determine who will get the ball first. Goes by odd (1) even (2) behind the back. 2. Teams shall change sides at the end of each set. 3. Balls must pass over the net to be deemed legal. 4. A ball touching any part of the line is considered to be in. 5. Contact with the net by a player except for hair (pony tail) is a fault. 6. 3 hits are allowed to get the ball over the net. *Co-Rec Exception: If multiple hits occur, a female and male must hit the ball before it can be hit back across the net, with the exception of blocks* 7. Blocking. Blocking does not count as a hit, and you cannot block a serve. 8. There is no order that the hits must be made in. 9. Only the players legally positioned in the front row at the time of the serve may spike from that position (no back row attacks). 10. Service must be made completely behind back rope. If any part of the foot touches the rope a fault will be called and service will be awarded to the opposite team. 11. If a ball hits the net and goes over it, the ball is still considered in play. 12. A hit off of a players foot is considered legal 13. A player is allowed to go under the net as long as he player does not interfere with the play.
