Long Train Running
This is an ideal song for Intermediate standard guitar players, because it uses Minor 7th (m7) barre chords. These are not always easy to get, so be persistent because perfection takes time. The Gm7 barre chord can feature a “double hammer-on”, by simply playing the barre on its own and hammering the other two fingers into place. Once again, don’t look for perfection at once, it takes time. Here’s the chord progression for the verse:
| Gm7 | Gm7 | Gm7 | Gm7 |
| Cm7 | Cm7 | Gm7 | Gm7 |
| Eb7 | Dm7 | Gm7 | Gm7 |
As you will see, it is a 12-bar blues in G Minor, with a funky soul rhythm, you could use a strumming pattern such as:
1 2 3 4
