South Coast Utility Coordinating Council

Meeting Minutes: 11/08/07 Location: Fisherman’s Grotto, Charleston

Attendees: Chuck Commiskey, Retired Wolf Haggerty, AT&T Lee Hockema, Rob Howanic, NW Natural Mike McDaniel, OMI Ellen Roos, Linda Jennie, Locating Inc. Janna Littles, Verizon Karen Turner, City of Coos Bay Shirley Johnson, Central Lincoln PUD Brian Woods, CB-NB Water Board

The meeting was called to order at 12:10 by President, Lee Hockema and minutes of previous meeting read and approved.

Old Business:

Distribution of Locate information to area rental agencies was successful. Council will take the opportunity to also give out calendars to these businesses. Follow up by Lee Hockema will be taken to address realty signs at the Realtor’s Board meeting. The local Council will also continue to educate surveyors to use the Locate system.

Locate tee shirts, purchased by the local Council, will be handed out to area contractors as the opportunities arise.

New Business:

Roundtable Comments:

Ellen Locators Inc. is no longer doing private locates. Cheryl Brown is helping Ellen in our area. Lee Work being done at Safeway in Myrtle Point, Nazarene church in North Bend. New work coming up will be at the Mill Casino, Oregon Resources and the SW Oregon Regional airport. Shirley Crews are doing winter maintenance, Winchester Bay and new subdivision work, and replacing underground power with conduit.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:45 pm. The NEXT MEETING will be held on Dec. 13, 2007 at 12:00 at the Fisherman’s Grotto in Charleston, OR.
