Pump Replacement

Tools Required: Adjustable wrench 8 or 10 inch Hammer Flat Screwdriver Small Phillips Screwdriver PTFE Thread Tape

Time required: 15 minutes

This is procedure is not a substitute for reading and understanding all instruction manuals and warning labels supplied with the equipment.

Procedure 1. Flush unit with recommended solvent. Park the unit and then follow pressure relief instructions in the operation manual. Unplug the machine before proceeding to step 2.

2. Remove feed tube from pump. Inspect o-ring on the top of feed tube and replace if damaged (117559).

3. Loosen guard and rotate away from pump housing opening. 4. Push coupler pin out of coupler and pump shaft.

5. Loosen and remove the J tube from the heater and pump.

6. Remove outlet fitting from pump housing.

7. Loosen retaining nut with a hammer. Turn the pump out of the pump housing. Remove the retaining nut, washer and bracket from the original pump. Save those parts for the new pump. 8. Assembly of the new pump. Remove pump from the box. Install the retaining nut on the new pump and turn it all the way to the bottom of the thread area of the pump. Place washer on top of nut and place bracket on top of washer. Pull the piston out of the pump approximately 1 inch.

9. Thread pump into pump housing and turn until the bottom of the throat retaining nut is flush with the top of the housing.

10. Align the coupler pin hole opening with the pump shaft pin opening. Use small Phillips screwdriver to help align both holes. Tap pin into hole and push down wire spring retainer over pin.

11. Use thread tape on pump outlet fitting. Install fitting into pump and tighten with fitting facing down. (See picture in step 6)

12. Reattach J tube to pump and heater. (See step 5)

13. Turn retaining nut on pump up until it is against housing. Bracket should be facing forward. Tap retaining nut with hammer to tighten. (See step 7)

14. Reinstall guard on pump and insert and tighten feed tube into pump. Start up unit as described in operation manual. Check for leaks on fitting and J tube connections
