SUBJECT: Individual Provider Wage and Mileage Reimbursement Rate Change
PURPOSE: There are two purposes in issuing this Management Bulletin: 1. To notify staff that the base wage rate paid to Individual Providers increased from a range of $11.75-$15.15 to a new range of $12.00- $15.40 effective January 1, 2017. 2. To notify staff that the mileage rate reimbursed to Individual Providers decreases from $0.54 to $0.535 per mile effective January 1, 2017.
BACKGROUND: The wage and benefit package for Individual Providers (IPs) is determined through a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the State of Washington and Service Employees International Union (SEIU 775).
Beginning July 1, 2008, Individual Providers began to receive a collectively bargained mileage reimbursement based upon the IRS mileage rate which changes at least annually.
WHAT’S NEW, Independent Provider Wage Rate Change CHANGED, OR IP wages increased from $11.75-$15.15 to $12.00-$15.40 effective January 1, CLARIFIED: 2017. Individual Providers who have a valid Home Care Aide Certification or equivalent and/or complete advanced training will continue to receive an additional $0.25 per hour differential payment on top of their base wage for a total of $0.50 when applied for both the certification and advanced training completion. IPOne will adjust the mileage reimbursement to $.535 per mile. ProviderOne’s per-mile rate will remain at $.54 for S0215-U1 and S0215-U2. New transportation codes S0215-U3 and S0215-U4 (yet to be added and configured) will also use the $.54 per mile rate in P1.
ACTION: Immediately begin using the new rates for services rendered on or after January 1, 2017.
