Thursday---Day 4 “Ants” Class will complete the following activities, details given on teacher’s guide pgs. noted. 1. Oral Language with Good Afternoon message---about make believe things---After message is written and read, call attention to the spacing between the words in the message. Remind children that if words are too close together, a reader cannot tell where one word ends and another begins. Ask a volunteer to frame the word make in the message and discuss the 2 meanings with sentences: I make ___ for a snack. I make believe that I can ____. 2. Sharing Literature with song, “The Ants Go Marching”---recall details as to what the little ones (1-6) did in the song—make chart---teacher’s guide pg. 67D 3. T50 and display the words make, They, walk. Students will choose from those words to complete each sentence to complete the story. Afterward, class will cut out strips, place in story sequence and illustrate each to form their own version of the story, “Ants.”
