9.37 LEVY COUNTY 4-5-05

9.37.1 SYSTEM SUMMARY

Levy County will be a type 1, 9-1-1 system consisting of one Primary PSAP. The PSAP will be located in the Sheriff’s dispatch center in the jail facility in the City of Bronson and will direct dispatch calls for the Sheriff’s Department, Bronson Volunteer Fire Department, and the Cedar Key, Chiefland, and Williston Police Departments. Calls for other public safety agencies will be transferred over existing seven-digit telephone lines. Calls from the portion of Levy County not served by the Levy County 9-1-1 system will be handled by the Gilchrist county 9-1-1 system and directed to the appropriate agencies. The central office 9-1-1 trunk network is shown in Figure 9.38-1.

9.37.2 SYSTEM MANAGEMENT

The Levy County 9-1-1 system will be operated by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office under the management of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office. The responsible fiscal agent will be the Board of County Commissioners.

9.37.3 INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS

Table 9.38-3 shows the required interlocal agreements for the Levy County 9-1-1 system. Typical interlocal agreements are shown in Appendix.
