Prayers Holy Ghost Intercession

Prayers – Holy Ghost Intercession God’s model for the church is to have the Holy Spirit helping the people of God to pray. It states, “And they continued steadfastly. . . in prayers” (Acts 2:42e). The Holy Spirit helps us to pray (Romans 8:26). The final words of the short epistle of Jude state: Jude 1:20-21 – “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” 1. Holy Spirit Directed Prayer: God’s desire is that the people of His Church pray to Him with the aide and direction of the Holy Spirit. God speaks to us through His Spirit inspired word. We speak to Him through our Spirit guided prayers. 2. All Manner of Prayer: Much prayer, much power; little prayer, little power. God releases His power into the church through prayer. The Church should establish many types of prayer events, prayer concerts, all night prayer meetings, set times of prayer and fasting and prayer, early morning prayer meetings, noon prayer times and regularly schedule prayer meetings throughout the week. Prayers of petitions should precede every church event, concluded with prayers of thanksgiving and praise. 3. Prayer Saturation: Literally everything that a congregation does and engages in should be saturated with organized and strategic scriptural-word-based prayers. Business meetings should be saturated in prayer in advance. Worship services should be saturated in prayer in advance. Sunday school classes should be saturated in prayer in advance. Week-day bible studies should be saturated in prayer in advance. Hospital visitations should be saturated in prayer in advance. Choir practices should be saturated in prayer in advance. Deacons meetings, Missionary meetings and Ushers meetings should be saturated in prayer in advance. Evangelistic outreaches should be saturated in prayer in advance. Church benevolent work in the community should be saturated in prayer in advance. Personal witnessing by individual church members should be saturated in prayer in advance. 4. Dedicated Prayer Teams: Every congregation should establish dedicated prayer teams who pray in the church and in home groups who pray on a rotating basis, who will give themselves to the ministry of intercession to pray for, pray over, pray about everything that concerns that congregation. The ministry of prayer should never be an after-thought in the church. 5. God Favors A Praying Church: Serious set times of Prayer should be every church’s’ top priority. This kind of praying Church, God will honor and it will witness miracle after miracle after miracle because God highly favors a praying church. Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
