Chapter 1 General product description

Chapter 2 The NVR shall use a Linux operating system (O/S).

Chapter 3 The NVR shall include preinstalled VMS software and necessary camera licenses, for rapid deployment and setup.

Chapter 4 The NVR shall be compatible with over 2600 IP cameras using a camera-specific software driver.

Chapter 5 The NVR shall be compatible with IP cameras that use ONVIF and PSIA software drivers.

Chapter 6 The NVR shall identify cameras on the network (that have a factory-default user name and password), and immediately start recording out of the box.

Page 2 Chapter 7 The NVR shall be accessible from a central video management system for remote viewing, remote desktop configuration, and upload of video. This functionality shall be enabled out of the box with no additional integration required.

Chapter 8 The NVR shall have a web-based user interface that shall be compatible with the Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari web browsers.

Chapter 9 The NVR shall offer a port-mapping feature with which the NVR shall attempt to enable external access to the system over the Internet by automatically setting configurations on the router.

Chapter 10 The NVR shall allow an administrator to change network settings on both network interface cards (NIC) such as DHCP on/off, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server addresses.

Chapter 11 The NVR shall allow an administrator to automatically or manually change date and time settings such as the date and time, time zone, and add or remove timeserver addresses.

Chapter 12 Licensing

A. The NVR shall automatically activate the license for each camera connected to it with no user intervention if the system is connected to the Internet.

B. The NVR shall offer an offline license activation process that shall be available if the system is not connected to the Internet.

Chapter 13 Software features

A. The NVR shall include an online system monitoring service that enables resellers to monitor the health of the system and proactively resolve technical issues.

B. The NVR shall offer differentiated user account types. An administrator account shall have access to all functionality while a standard user shall only be able to access live video, playback, export and PTZ controls. User names and passwords can be set.

C. The NVR shall include a web-viewing client plug-in that allows for video processing on the client.

D. The NVR shall show live video feeds from all connected cameras in a grid, and in a larger and full screen format for each camera individually.

E. The NVR shall have pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) controls for PTZ cameras in the live view mode.

F. The NVR shall have a playback functionality available from the live view mode with manual search controls and the ability to go to a specific day, hour, and minute through a calendar search interface.

G. The NVR shall allow download, preview, and export of a video clip defined through a calendar interface to select the day, hour, and minute of the clip start time and the day, hour, and minute of the video clip stop time. The export file shall be in MKV format.

H. The NVR shall be able to send an email notification when system changes occur, such as adding or deleting a camera.

I. The NVR shall be able to email or download a log file that can be forwarded to the technical support organization to aid in troubleshooting.

J. Page 3 K. The NVR shall report the status of the storage, CPU, licenses, and software through graphics and text in the user interface.

L. The NVR shall operate with a mobile viewing client (iOS, Android and Windows 8 Phone compatible)

The software solution shall support a free iOS, Android and Windows 8 Phone-compatible mobile viewing client that shall allow users to access cameras, views and recordings on the mobile devices (mobile phones, tablets and portable music players).

The mobile viewing client shall connect to the software solution through a server plugin that shall be installed on the software solution.

The mobile viewing client shall be able to stream live video from the mobile device camera through wi-fi or cellular data to the VMS software, from where it can be seen live in other clients and recorded for later viewing.

The following functionality shall be available in the mobile viewing client:

Chapter 20 Camera configuration

A. The NVR shall allow administrators to change general camera configuration settings. This shall allow administrators to enable/disable or delete a camera, see an IP address, and change the name of a camera.

Chapter 21 The NVR shall allow administrators to change video camera configuration settings. This shall allow administrators to choose H.264 or JPEG encoding, camera resolution and frame rate, and rotation of the camera image.

Chapter 22 The NVR shall allow administrators to change recording camera configuration settings. This shall allow administrators to choose continuous or motioning recording, pre- and post-buffers for motion recording, audio recording where this is legally allowed, recording retention time, delete recordings from this camera, and disk usage.

Chapter 23 The NVR shall allow administrators to change motion detection camera configuration settings. This shall allow the administrator to choose and clear motion detection exclusion zones on a grid, edit the grid dimensions, use slider bars to set the motion size and sensitivity, and limit motion detection impact on the CPU.

Chapter 24 NVR hardware

A. The NVR shall have sufficient cooling in a fan-less design to provide a quiet, reliable NVR solution.

Page 4 Chapter 25 The NVR shall feature video grade hard disk drives, tested and supplied by the manufacturer, and engineered for write performance and durability, while writing large sequential data blocks during constant operation.

Chapter 30 The NVR shall have standard VESA mount points to be mounted to a wall, stand, or monitor in any orientation.

Chapter 31 Testing and warranty

Chapter 32 The entire NVR system shall be tested and supported by the manufacturer – including hardware, hard disk drives, and VMS software.

Chapter 33 The NVR shall have a standard three-year hardware warranty.

Chapter 34 The NVR shall have a three-year software upgrade program.
