Veterans Mobility Fund Eligibility Application

Veterans Mobility Fund Eligibility Application

Eligibility

The Veterans Mobility Fund (VMF) is managed by The Royal British Legion (the Legion). It endeavours to meet the wellbeing needs of veterans discharged with Service-attributable serious physical injury through the funding of wheelchairs and other mobility aids which are not typically available through statutory sources.

The purpose of the eligibility application is to ascertain whether your physical injury was acquired during Service and if you are in receipt of a War Pension or have received an award under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS).

Next Steps

Please complete the eligibility application and return to:

Veterans Medical Funds The Royal British Legion 199 Borough High Street London SE1 1AA

If you have evidence of your War Pension or award under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme please include these with your returned form. If these are not available to you, please request the information from Veterans UK – see our website for information.

Applications received by the Legion will be acknowledged within five working days of receipt.

Once we have received your application form and War Pension or AFCS evidence, you will receive an eligibility decision within ten working days. If you have previously applied for a War Pension or AFCS award, but been declined, please submit an eligibility application to the Legion, including the decision letter from Veterans UK. We may still be able to assist.

If you have not applied for a War Pension or AFCS award, please visit the Veterans UK website or contact The Royal British Legion for assistance in submitting your application.

If your eligibility application is approved, you will be issued the second stage application form which must be completed and submitted by a clinician through Disablement Services Centres in England, or equivalents in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Please note that an invitation to stage two is not a guarantee that financial assistance will be approved.
