Championship Tournament The CIF Los Angeles City Section Golf Championship Tournament will be a one day, 18 holes tournament. Team qualifiers and individual qualifiers will equal no more than 66 total golfers entered into the championship tournament.

Qualifying Scores: To be entered in the Los Angeles City Section Championship Tournament as a team, the team must consistently shoot 215 for 9 holes during league play and 430 for 18 holes during non-league and tournament play. All scores must be played at a regulation golf course. To be entered as an individual, students must consistently score seven (7) over par for 9 holes during league play. All scores submitted must be from regulation golf courses. A golfer who is unable to attend the championship should not be entered by the coach. Seeding and Entries League Managers are required to submit the scores. All scoring information must be emailed to Terry Sciarrino no later than May 8, 2016. Include the school, golfer’s name, grade, and average score over par on the template you will receive. Any school / league manager that does not provide this data will not be considered for the tournament. The committee will be made up of the Golf Coordinator and Tournament Assistant.

League Managers must send/email a copy of their League Standing, team averages, win-loss record and individual player averages over par to the Athletics Office representative for archive purposes. League managers that do not submit required information at the seeding meeting will not receive FOG league manager funding. Schools qualifying up to three players must provide one scorekeeper for the championship. The names of the scorekeeper(s) must be provided at the time the players names are submitted.

If no official is available, all rule interpretations will be made by the tournament directors. Spectators: Spectators will be allowed to follow the golfers during competition. All spectators must remain outside the tree line and off any playing area. No contact or communication with competitors will be allowed at any time. Any violations of this requirement will result in disqualification of competitor(s) involved. Spectators will not be allowed to use golf carts. (Please inform parents of your players) Physically disabled spectators must obtain approval from the Tournament Director to use a golf cart. Participating schools must ensure that parents and fans are notified of this policy.

Rules: For the Boys’ Championship, a team with qualifying scores shall be composed of at least five players but no more than six, with stroke play for eighteen holes to determine the City Championship Team. The team with the lowest five scores shall be declared the City Championship Team. At-large competitors will also play at this championship to determine their status in the individual competition. 1. Tie breaking procedure (Gold Book rules 2015-16)– The order of tie-breaking will be: i. Back nine total ii. Front nine total iii. Last six holes iv. Last three holes 2. Coaches will be held responsible for enforcing the following rules: a. Cheating will not be tolerated whether intentional or not. (Disqualification) b. Players will be disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard. Mistakes in addition will not be penalized after correction. Individual scores must be accurate. c. Giving advice within a group will not be allowed.(one warning, disqualification) d. Range Finders will be allowed at the Section Championship. No other electronic devices including cell phones & apps will be allowed to be used. All electronic devises (except for a range finder) must be stored in the players golf bag, remain out of sight and in the OFF mode. Violation penalty is disqualification. e. Once a participant completes the competition, he/she is not allowed to return to the course. Only exception; competitors who have completed competition are allowed to await competitors at the 18th hole (Penalty is disqualification) f. Competitors will not be allowed to wait in the parking lot or in car for their coach or other players. All players that remain for the award ceremony are required to remain near the 18th hole or the Club House area. Regulations and Reminders for the City Championships 1. All players are expected to display appropriate behavior at all times. 2. All players must wear the appropriate clothing. Team shirts in school colors are required of all golfers. Boys: Proper shorts (Bermuda length tailored dress shorts), or pants. Golf shoes are recommended (preferable soft spikes). For the LAUSD Invitational, tennis shoes are acceptable. 3. Players and coaches must check-in between 7:30-8:00 A.M. at the scoring table. 4. No club throwing, ball throwing, swearing, yelling or any other improper or abusive behavior will not be allowed. Players may not receive information that could help the player during play. Any violations will result in disqualification. 6. Spectators will be allowed to follow the golfers. All spectators must walk the course; remain outside the tree line and off any playing area. No contact or communication with competitors will be allowed at any time. Any violations of this requirement will result in the disqualification of the competitor. Spectators are not allowed to use golf carts at anytime (no exceptions). 7. Smoking is not permitted in any area near or on the golf course, including the parking lot. Any player who violates this rule will be disqualified. Any spectator who violates this rule will be removed from the course. 8. The maximum number of players per team is SIX. Schools with 3 – 6 entries should send two scorers to the tournament. Coaches must stay for the entire event. 9. Schools with golfers in the tournament are required send a certified coach to work the event. Players whose coach does not arrive by check-in time will not be allowed to register/participate. Coaches who do not have players in the finals are requested to assist with management of the championship. 10. Range finders will be allowed to be used during the competition on the course . No other electronic device will be allowed. Except for Range finders, all electronic devises must be stored in the players golf bag, remain out of sight and in the OFF mode. Violation penalty is disqualification Awards All awards will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament. A Team Championship plaque and six medals will be presented to the first place student team and a Team Runner-up plaque and six medals will be presented to the second place team. CIF SCGA Southern California Regional Golf Tournament

Date/Location: Thursday, May 26– Brookside Golf Club, Pasadena, CA Additional information will be sent to schools with qualifying teams and individuals.

Qualifiers: Boys Only – Individuals Twelve Individuals and two 6-person teams (Student Teams) Five Scores will be counted for team scores.

Due to the course being in local proximity to the LA City Section, no overnight expenses will be reimbursed. Qualifiers: Top three (3) teams from Northern Cal and Southern Cal Regional. Top six (6) individuals form Northern Cal and Southern Cal Regional.

Section Reimbursement: Team and individual qualifiers are eligible for meal reimbursement for each day of the event not to exceed $8 for breakfast, $10 for lunch, and $12 for dinner per day. When travel is in excess of 100 miles, overnight lodging will be limited to one day for a one day event at a maximum rate of $109.00 per night. Teams that qualify three or less players receive one room reimbursement, teams with four or five players, receive two player rooms, teams with 6 qualify receive three rooms reimbursement for players lodging. In addition, the official listed head coach of the team receives reimbursement for their room. Coaches are not allowed to share rooms with players. Please used the attached reimbursement form and submit your request within 30 days of completing the trip for the championship event. CHAMPIONSHIP SPECTATOR RULES READ BEFORE ENTERING GOLF COURSE

1. Spectators must walk in the tree line (not on the fairway, never on the green). 2. Contact with players IS NOT PERMITTED. 3. Range Finders will be allowed during the competition on the course. All electronic devices are to be turned off and stowed away while on the golf course; this includes: a. Cell phones, MP3, IPod, head sets, GPS devices, computers b. In the event of an emergency, the score keeper must approve use of a cell phone. 4. Spectators must walk a. No cart rentals will be allowed for spectators (request with special circumstances must be approved by tournament director). 5. Smoking will not be permitted on the golf course at any time during the tournament. 6. Inappropriate actions and language will not be tolerated at any time. 7. This is a school event and all school rules and regulations will be enforced. 8. Spectators are expected to comply with all course rules and regulations.

The following serve as guidelines established by the CIF Los Angeles City Section (CIFLACS; the Section) Executive Committee as proper and reasonable expenses to be reimbursed. Please note, the Head Coach shall submit one reimbursement form for all allowable travel related expenses for the team, per event – the Section is not obligated to reimburse for expenses that do not comply with this policy.

Documentation and Procedures

Within 30 days of completing the trip for the championship event, coaches must submit the Statement of Travel and Expense form and all receipts to the Section office:

Original itemized receipts should be provided. If a receipt is not itemized, the reimbursement request will be denied. The Budget and Finance Manager will review the validity of each reimbursement request in accordance with this policy. Checks will be issued within two to five business days following the receipt of each completed request. Checks will be mailed to the address listed on the reimbursement form, unless otherwise noted. Expenses submitted 30 days following the date that the expenses were incurred will not be reimbursed.

Allowable Expenses

A maximum, daily meal allowance $8.00 / breakfast, $10.00 / lunch, $12.00 / dinner, per person will be reimbursed for each meal submitting itemized receipts; the number of meals per day will be based on the beginning and ending travel time to the event destination. The total amount is not a per diem; only actual expenses will be reimbursed. If meals exceed the per meal allowance, the overage will not be reimbursed. The per meal expense allowance cannot be rolled over into other meals or the next day.

Coaches are required to stay in the same hotel, in his/her own room, as the team. The Section will reimburse a reasonable lodging rate as indicated by the bulletin (inclusive of taxes and fees), as determined by the Commissioner and Executive Committee. The lodging rate (per room/night) and the number of allowable rooms will be listed on the reimbursement form and subsequent notices distributed to the coaches prior to travel.

Prohibited Expenses

Alcohol is not reimbursable, nor are any entertainment charges, including, but not limited to games (i.e., golf, tennis, etc.), services (i.e., massages, physical training, grooming, etc.), and in-room movies. If additional costs are incurred due to incidentals (i.e., laundry, service-bar items, long distance telephone charges, internet access, etc.), airfare, mileage, overages on rooms/meals, and/or other fees not mentioned in this policy, these charges will be at the coach’s own expense.

Expenses are intended for the coaches (one per school) and student athletes only. Assistant coaches are not paid for lodging or meal expenses, unless they are the only coach traveling with the team. Travel expenses shall not be reimbursed for spouses, family members or other personal guests. Students selecting to remain with parents will not qualify for lodging or meal reimbursements.
