KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION

June 15th, 2016

Dear parents,

In September, your child will be starting kindergarten. We are anxious to get to know each of the students and you, the parents. In order to facilitate your child’s entrance into kindergarten, we are providing you with a school supply list in advance. Please purchase only the items requested and label the specified items with your child’s full name. We ask that all the items be brought to school at our orientation sessions in August 2016. Please place all items into one big bag and clearly label the bag with your child’s name. Take note that all items must be brought to school by you, all at the same time. Do not bring in items at separate times. This will prevent items from getting lost or misplaced.

Our orientation sessions will take place on August 31st and September 1st from 9:30 to 11:30.

*If your family name begins with the letters A-P, you are invited to come to our first session on August 31st at 9:30 am.

*If your family name begins with the letters Q-Z, you are invited to come to our second session on September 1st at 9:30am.

At this time, we will go over some of the kindergarten basics and give you all the pertinent information regarding your child’s first year of school. We will also be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have. Please make an effort to attend this meeting with your child. The first official day of school for all kindergarten students will be on Friday, September 2 nd. Please remember that all students must be wearing the school colors, a plain white top and navy blue bottoms, on the first day of school. For safety reasons, students must also wear closed shoes, no sandals or open toe shoes are allowed.

Until then, you can start getting your child used to the idea that he/she will be in school this fall and that he/she will make new friends and learn new interesting things. We have wonderful activities planned for everyone to enjoy. These activities are designed to help your child develop social, behavioral and academic skills.

Please see the attached sheet for school supplies. Please complete the ‘’Kindergarten Teacher Reference Sheet’’ and bring it with you when you come for the orientation session.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you in the fall.

Thanking you for your cooperation,

Mr. Schembri Principal

Ms. Ithomi & Ms. Cinthia Kindergarten teachers
