Lovett College Resident Faculty Associate Application

Please return (by email preferably) to Midori Rinkliff (mer6@rice) or Andrew Hadad (aah6@rice) by Sunday, April 23rd at 11:59 P.M.

The electronic copy of this application can be found at Lovett.rice.edu > Resources > Useful Lovett Links > Lovett RFA Application 2017.

Please answer the following questions briefly but completely.

Name: Phone: Email: Department:

Introduce yourself to us! Tell us about your family (including pets), your job at Rice, your hobbies and interests, etc.

In addition to bringing social and cultural experiences to Lovett, we need our RFAs to emphasize the academic culture here at Rice. We have a great peer support system through our Academic Fellows and Peer Academic Advisors, but are looking for strong faculty involvement to complement these institutions. What prior experience do you have in academic advising and why would this make you ideal for the role?

Describe an experience that comes to mind with mentors or being a mentor in college. How do you think these experiences prepare you for the role of an RFA? What is the point of attending university?

What do you like most about Rice? What would you change about Rice if you could?

Before coming to Rice, all students must answer this question. We would like to know your response. If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would they be and why?

Being a Resident Faculty Associate often means sacrificing some privacy and space and dealing with noise. What are your potential concerns regarding these living constraints?

What excites you about the possibility of becoming a Resident Faculty Associate?

In addition to your completed application, please provide a resume or CV, and the names of two currently enrolled undergraduate references.

Do not hesitate to contact Midori Rinkliff ([email protected]) or Andrew Hadad ([email protected]) with any questions.
