1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A HOUSE RESOLUTION 10 11 TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE HARTSVILLE 12 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM ON ITS IMPRESSIVE 13 WIN OF THE 2012 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 14 TITLE. 15 16 Whereas, supremely ready for the challenge, the Hartsville High 17 School football team drove past Union County 6227 to capture the 18 2012 Class AAA State Championship, held on December 1, 2012; 19 and 20 21 Whereas, WilliamsBrice Stadium in Columbia echoed with the 22 cheers of exuberant Hartsville fans, pleased to see their confident 23 predictions of victory realized as a satisfying end to a perfect 150 24 season. By the end of the title game, the Red Foxes’ admirers were 25 already looking with anticipation toward a repeat performance next 26 year; and 27 28 Whereas, such victories do not come overnight; they take 29 determination and hard work. With proven consistency in both, 30 Coach Jeff Calabrese has built his football program into a 31 championship team that refuses to settle for second best; and 32 33 Whereas, making a scintillating win even brighter, the 34 championship victory gave the Red Foxes their first football title 35 since 1988. It was Hartsville’s fourth state title in football overall 36 and its first as a TripleA school; and 37 38 Whereas, the Red Foxes played for more than just themselves on 39 December 1, 2012: Hartsville’s powerhouse seniors poured on the 40 offense, and its defense came up with key stops in memory of 41 former teammate Ronald Rouse, a 320pound senior lineman, who 42 died in October of sudden cardiac arrhythmia brought on by a

[3272] 1 1 congenital enlarged heart. The Red Foxes ran through a banner 2 with Ronald’s number 74 and the words “The Win Beneath Our 3 Wings” emblazoned prominently thereon; and 4 5 Whereas, the Red Foxes have brought great pride and recognition 6 to their school and community, and the members of the House of 7 Representatives are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize 8 such a wonderful group of young athletes. Now, therefore, 9 10 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 11 12 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 13 by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Hartsville High 14 School football team on its impressive win of the 2012 Class AAA 15 State Championship title. 16 17 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 18 Principal Charlie Burry and Coach Jeff Calabrese of Hartsville 19 High School. 20 XX 21
