Scripture Answer Challenges

1. 1 Nephi 2:15 Tent *Go to Hall and find one.

2. Ether 2:17 Tree *Three team members put up your tent near a tree. Join team once finished. The rest go on with the challenge.

3. 2 Nephi 5:11 Animals Name 5 animals in Nephi’s time. Look up Animal in Index for clues.

4. Alma 37:38 Liahona - Look up in Index for other meaning…. (Compass) *Look for Compass near Bishops office.

5. 2 Nephi 25:20 Rock Sing “The wise man built his house upon a rock”

6. 1 Nephi 18:11 Cord (Rope) *Find Brother Arthur for your task (Rope weaving)

7. Alma 5:7 Sleep Go to Carpenter for your next task. (Sleeping Bag) (Time how fast you can roll up a sleeping bag) Your time will be revealed at the end.

8. 1 Nephi 17:13 Light (Torch) *Look in the kitchen

9. 4 Nephi 1:32 Fire *Find some small sticks and leaves and make a small fireplace outside your tent. *Not to be lit.

10. 1 Nephi 19:23 Scriptures Find in the scriptures 2 Nephi 10:23 And explain to your leader what it means.

Sit down by your tents when completed with your leader there. Nephi’s Challenge Activity

Objective: To have children work as a team using scriptures and doing challenges. Allowing them to realise you can over come challenges. And have fun.

What to do….

1. Have a leader in charge of a group to give them Scripture references one at a time. 2. They have to find a word in that scripture that may do with camping 3. Report back to leader to see if it is correct. Leader may give clues. 4. Leader will either give them a task or send them onto someone who has a task for them. 5. Once task is complete they move onto the next scripture (10 altogether) 6. Once all tasks are complete they sit down by their tents with their leader. 7. Give out awards or treats or both and congratulate them on doing a great job and team work.

What I need 3 Torches, 3 Tents, Rope, 3 Pictures of a Compass, 3 Books of Mormon or 2 per team, 3 Sleeping Bags, Stop watch

- Organise leaders for each group - Do up awards for Nephi’s Challenge - Get some treats… Lollipops maybe - Ask Brother Arthur to do Rope area - Ask Tou’s to help with tents if children need help - Ask Carpenter to help with the Sleeping bag challenge And time children.
