Day 5 Divide the class into two groups. Place one group on one side of the playing area and the other group on the other side of the playing area. Students may not cross over to the other team’s area as they play the game. Scatter various soft objects throughout both sides of the game space. Place containers on both sides of the playing area to be used as targets. Each item to be thrown should have its own container on each side. On the start signal, students should try to throw all of the objects from one side to the appropriate containers on the other side. Emphasize to the students that they must throw the objects over the heads of the other team members. Students should not be throwing the items at other students. Play for about 2 minutes; stop and count how many objects are in each container. Redistribute the objects and then play the game again. You may want to place pictures of the objects on the containers. This will make it easier for the students to know where to throw the objects.

Teacher Notes Watch where you are rolling the ball. Be careful not to trip on any objects when traveling though your team’s space. Be aware of other students when rolling and retrieving balls. Have your students bend over to roll the ball. Check body alignment of your students that have trouble with accuracy – they must face target.
