September 2017 Memo Ordinary Time In advance of the new academic year, here is the memo for September 2017. Third and Fourth Class will begin using the new programme, Grow in Love, this month. Details of Continuing Professional Development for teachers and principals will follow. September is a busy month of settling in, meeting new people and preparing for the year ahead. Consideration should be given to the type of weekly links that may be made with the home. Your school may find it helpful to choose a specific day each week where all class levels link with the home in Religion. Resources, including termly overviews, to assist planning in RE, including termly overviews, are also available on our website www.education.dublindiocese.ie/school. The table below will help to inform all teachers' planning in RE this month. Preparation has begun to celebrate the World Meeting of Families in August 2018. Prayer Space The basic elements to include in all prayer spaces are a crucifix, a statue or image of Our Lady, a children's Bible (open on a relevant page) and a candle. This month, you may wish to add the children's names, items from nature (such as leaves, sea shells and/or conkers.) The prayer space may also include the Alive-O or Grow in Love poster, where applicable, and examples of pupils' R.E. work.
