SUMMARY The Produce Account Executive will buy produce from shippers and growers in the produce growing regions and sell the product to wholesale foodservice and retail clients throughout the Midwest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Analyze produce market conditions  Handle produce sales and purchases via the telephone  Manage direct sales from grower/shipper to the customer  Maintain business relationships with growers, shippers and clients  Meet with existing customers to cross-sell and up-sell  Meet with existing customers to increase business and address service issues  Monitor inventory of produce that moves through the warehouse  Compile orders from customers and forward sales order to warehouse staff  Utilize truck brokers, growers and shippers to find truck for produce shipments  Inform contracted truck drivers of pick up and delivery information  Monitor progress of contracted truck drivers  Keep Transportation Manager informed of all pick up and delivery information  Complete paperwork associated with produce sales and purchases  Maintain accurate bookkeeping of produce sales and purchase  Attend produce conventions and food shows as required  Travel to growing areas to meet with shippers to foster a better business relationship  Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Occupational Safety Procedure and all Food Safety guidelines related to the position or being on the Warehouse floor.

 4 year College Degree from an accredited University preferred  2 year Associate Degree minimum  Purchasing and Sales Experience  Food & Beverage Distribution OR Retail or Food Services Sales  Knowledge of the produce industry preferred  2+ years of job experience as an Account/Representative, Account Executive, Sales Representative or Inside Phone Sales  Excellent verbal and written communication skills  Proficient in Word, Excel & Power Point  90% or better on PAE I proficiency test

Produce Account Executive II

 4 year College Degree from an accredited University required  4 year minimum as a Produce Account Executive I  Proven history of success in up selling & cross selling produce  Purchasing and Sales Experience  3 years experience in Produce  New Account Growth Experience  Excellent verbal and written communication skills  Advanced skills in Word, Excel and Power Point  90% or better on PAE II proficiency test

Anticipated hours per week: 50+ [hours are cyclical, based on product and seasonal demands]. Saturday mornings are required – especially during the busy season.

Must have the ability to travel up to 10% of the time [rarely overnight].
