Teacher: Miss Legner “Success is a choice.” Phone #: (847) 718 - 4735 [email protected] Available 2nd , 3rd , & 6th
In order to be successful in my class… 1. RESPECT yourself, your classmates, school property, and me. I respect all students and I expect to be respected back. Disrespect will result in a detention and a phone call home and/or a parent conference depending on the situation.
2. Come to class ON TIME. Be in the classroom BEFORE the bell rings. General school consequences apply to arriving tardy to class (see your student handbook).
3. Come PREPARED to class with assignments and materials/supplies. Failure to come prepared will result in a loss of “participation/preparation/habits of work” grade.
You will need basic supplies… a folder used only for reading class, a notebook, & pens/pencils. PLUS… one box of Kleenex or hand sanitizer.
4. Homework needs to be turned in on time. Students may turn in an assignment 1 day late with the use of a homework pass. In addition, a student can turn in an assignment 1 day late only if he/she has an EXCUSED absence for full credit. No homework will be accepted for unexcused absences.
5. Using the bathroom… a few special coupons will be passed out to everyone to use as a bathroom pass, locker pass, late homework pass, a tardy pass, or as extra points at the end of the semester.
6. NO food, candy, gum, or beverages are allowed in the classroom.
Grading Scale Individual Grade Values… 100 – 90 = A Quizzes/Tests/Projects – 35% 89 – 80 = B Accelerated Reader – 20% 79 – 70 = C Classwork /Homework – 35% 69 – 60 = D Participation/Preparedness/“Habits of Work” – 10% 59 – 0 = F
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY – Please read the academic integrity guidelines in the student handbook or online at our classroom website. I work hard to maintain and follow District 214 policies regarding academic conduct.
