The days are 2 weeks apart, to allow time to link the theory to practice. The training is delivered by experienced Solihull Approach trainers, and can be attended in the Midlands by individuals, or delivered in-house to a group of up to 12 practitioners.

Fostering & Adoption resource pack £78 Available without training For professionals working in fostering, adoption and social work teams. Includes theoretical information and materials for use in practice such as leaflets, content on attachment, transitions and change, and promoting a sense of identity in children and young people.

Combined Foundation and Group Facilitators’ trainings + Facilitators’ Manuals [For practitioners who have not previously attended any Solihull Approach training] Antenatal Foundation & Parenting Group Facilitators’ (2 day) training + Facilitators’ Manual Introduces practitioners to the Solihull Approach and its use in daily work, and enables them to facilitate the 5- week ‘Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby’ antenatal parenting group, combining traditional antenatal advice with preparing parents to have a relationship with their baby. Sessions include: Pregnancy and birth; getting to know your baby in the womb; stages of labour; helping you and your baby through labour and birth; feeding your baby

Sessions include: Tuning into your child’s developmental needs; different styles of parenting; having fun together; rhythm of interaction and sleep; self-regulation and anger Antenatal Parenting Group Facilitators’ (1 day) training + Facilitators’ Manual To facilitate the 5-week ‘Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby’ antenatal parenting group, combining traditional antenatal advice with preparing parents to have a relationship with their baby. Foster Carer Group Facilitator (1 day) training + Facilitators’ Manual To facilitate the 12 week ‘Understanding your foster child’s behaviour’ group for foster carers.

Trainers’ trainings and Manuals [Must have attended at least 2 Day Foundation and Train the Trainer training previously] Train the Trainers training (2 Day Foundation) + Trainers’ Manual To cascade the 2 Day Foundation training to other practitioners in the local area, with CD with PowerPoint presentation.
