Boomervision! ® to Make June 18 Delaware County Debut

Popular forum to share information about employment, lifelong learning, volunteerism and lifestyle choices for people 50+

MEDIA, PA - Boomervision!® is coming to Delaware County. The popular forum for baby boomers and others age 50+ to hear about and discuss new ideas about the transition to the next phase of their lives is scheduled for Thursday, June 18, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM on the main campus of Delaware County Community College, 901 South Media Line Rd., Media, PA . The event is presented by Philadelphia-based Coming of Age, a national initiative to promote age 50+ civic engagement. The Delaware County debut of the series is being supported by six additional sponsors: Delaware County Community Foundation (DCCF), Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA), AARP PA, WHYY, United Way of Southeast Pennsylvania and Crozer-Keystone Health System. Coming of Age is a partnership of WHYY Wider Horizons, the Temple University Center for Intergenerational Learning, the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and AARP Pennsylvania. Presented at WHYY since 2005, the Delaware County Boomervision! event will feature a panel of experts on topics of importance to the county’s estimated 137,000 residents age 50+ and their families: employment, lifelong learning, volunteerism and lifestyle choices. Panelists for the June 18 event include: David Mezzapelle, founder of www.jobsover50.com, an Internet website for job seekers 50+; Matthew Weidman, director, Osher Lifelong Learning institute, Widener University; Dick Chevrefils, director, AARP Pennsylvania, and Barbara Alexis Looby, administrative director, Senior Health Services, Crozer- Keystone Health System. The event is free to WHYY and AARP members and $10 for non- members. Doors open at 6 PM with a coffee and dessert reception, followed by the Boomervision! panel from 7:00-8:30 PM.
