LEARN ABOUT THE DISCIPLINES

The College of Arts & Social Sciences offers courses and programs in a staggering number of disciplines, many of which will be unfamiliar to you. In the following presentations, our academics will talk to you about their disciplines and why they have chosen to work in the field. They will talk about current research, the value of the body of knowledge, and where their graduates work. So if you have ever wondered what philosophers do, or where anthropologists work, or why classical studies are still important, or who the great curators are, or when knowledge of criminology might come in handy – come along and listen to these presentations. This information will help you to choose your electives, and to settle on your majors, minors, and specialisations.
