Overview: The Donijo DeJonge for State Representative campaign is now accepting applications for anyone interested in an Internship or Volunteer opportunity for the fall of 2014. Donijo Robbins DeJonge is running to represent Grand Rapids’ 76th state house district. She is currently a tenured, full professor of Public Finance with the School of Public, Nonprofit, and Health Administration at Grand Valley State University. Position Overview: An intern would work directly with the campaign manager and candidate on a variety of tasks relating to policy/legislation, communications, general office management, fieldwork, fundraising, community outreach and much more.

This is a valuable opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, gain hands-on experience in a multitude of disciplines, and build professional relationships within the community.

Hours: This is an unpaid opportunity where you can either receive college credit or assist as a volunteer. Donijo understands the importance of work and education; therefore we will be flexible in determining your hours and weekly schedule. Start/End dates are negotiable. Due to the fast paced setting and ever changing needs of political campaigns, interns should also be willing to be flexible when working with us.

Keep in mind that you will get as much out of this opportunity as the time you are willing put into it.

Requirements: An intern will be expected to complete tasks and assignments accurately and on time. Meeting deadlines can make or break a campaign. Interns must be hardworking and dedicated.
