SCOPE OF SERVICE: Towne Transport, HEREINAFTER referred to as (TT), will offer transportation service between the Bowie Gateway Shopping Center and the Rt. 424/50 Park-N-Ride (AM ONLY) to and from St. Anne’s School of Annapolis and the Key School, for the 2014-2015 school year. TT agrees to provide school bus transportation to accommodate those students contracted for morning, afternoon and activity bus service.
SCHEDULE OF SERVICE:
Morning: 7:20am Buses arrives to the Pier 1 – Bowie Gateway Shopping Center 7:30am Buses depart promptly – PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY Buses will depart at 7:30am, once the bus doors have shut and the bus has pulled away your child(ren) will not be able to board. If you arrive late please proceed directly to the Park-N-Ride AM Stop for the bus. 7:30am Bus proceeds to the Rt. 424 / Rt. 50 Park-N-Ride (AM ONLY) 7:45am Buses departs the Rt. 424 / Rt. 50 Park-N-Ride (AM ONLY) 7:55am – 8:05am Bus arrives St. Anne’s School of Annapolis 8:05am – 8:10am Bus arrives The Key School
Afternoon: 3:30pm Pickup / Depart Key School 3:40pm – 3:45pm Pickup / Depart St. Anne’s School 4:00pm – 4:10pm Buses arrives to the Pier 1 – Bowie Gateway Shopping Center 4:30pm Any child(ren) not picked up at 4:30pm will travel with the Activity Bus back to schools returning to the Bowie Gateway Plaza with the Activity Bus 4:30pm Buses Departs for Bowie Library – 15210 Annapolis Rd, Bowie
Bowie Library drop off option is available for 9 th grade students and older that are pre-registered with parental approval to be let off of the bus UNSUPERVISED at the Bowie Library - 15210 Annapolis Rd., Bowie

Parents registering their child(ren) for transportation service recognize that the “schedule of service” times are an estimate of approximate pick-up and drop-off times and that both normal and abnormal operating conditions such as weather and traffic congestion – may vary these times. Accordingly the undersigned agrees that TT shall not be liable for its inability to adhere to the estimated time schedule and that such inconveniences to both the student or the undersigned shall not be grounds for any rebate, reduction or refund of the fee paid hereunder, nor any claims for damages.
OPERATIONAL DAYS: TT will provide daily transportation to St. Anne’s School of Annapolis and The Key School based on each school’s approved 2014-2015 School Transportation Calendars.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
St. Anne’s School: When a half-day dismissal is scheduled:
If Club Ed is offered to students – bus service will be at the regular afternoon time and the activity bus is scheduled as usual. There will NOT be transportation provided at the half-day dismissal time. Parents are responsible for picking up their child(ren) for the half-day dismissal if they are not participating in Club Ed.
If Club Ed is not offered – bus service will be provided at the half-day dismissal time to the Bowie Gateway Plaza, activity bus will not operate on these days.
Key School: When a half-day dismissal is scheduled:
Bus service will be provided at the half-day dismissal time to the Bowie Gateway Plaza, activity bus will not operate on these days.
We will provide you with the half-day bus schedule the week prior to the half-day of school.
Club Ed is a St. Anne’s School after school program available to early childhood, lower school and middle school students on scheduled dates. Parents must register their child(ren) in advance in order to attend.
INCLEMENT WEATHER TT will follow the decisions of the Anne Arundel County Public School System (HEREINAFTER referred to as AACPS) for all Inclement Weather school delays or cancellations (see www.aacps.org for weather information regarding cancellations / policies). Transportation will be provided for delayed opening and early dismissals according to the AACPS weather related changes. TT reserves the right to make a decision to adjust pickup times as necessary when it is determined to be in the best interest of the children’s safety, this information will be communicated to each family via email. PARENT PICKUP: Parent or a pre-authorized guardian must meet the bus on time at the Bowie Gateway Shopping Center Pier 1 Import bus stop at the scheduled drop off time. At 4:30pm each day any students not picked up will ride the Activity Bus back to both schools and return with the Activity Bus students at approximately 6:10pm. Buses cannot wait for pickup after 4:30pm. Parents may complete a “Child Release Form” authorizing TT to release student(s) to other individuals listed on the form in the absence of the parent/guardian: As well, parents may authorize TT to release 9th grade and older students without supervision at the Bowie Library at 15210 Annapolis Road, Bowie (see Child Release Form). TT may charge a $15.00 minimum late fee per fifteen minute interval for families that are late picking children up at the Bowie Gateway Shopping Center from the Activity Bus and TT reserves the right to terminate this agreement without refund for repeated and/or excessive wait times. Further, the undersigned agrees that TT’s only responsibility is to provide transportation and does not include any responsibility for the students prior to entering the bus at pick-up locations in the morning or after departing the bus at drop-off points in the afternoon.
STUDENT CONDUCT:
TT expects all students to conduct themselves in a safe and orderly manner whenever riding the bus. Students are expected to follow the driver’s instructions. Drivers have the authority to immediately address student behavior issues by assigning seats and reporting situations to TT and parents. Continued behavior issues may be communicated to the school(s) and could result in the suspension or dismissal from the bus without refund of transportation fees.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES ON THE BUS Electronic games, cellular phones, iPads etc. must be used and remain in the possession of the owner only on the bus. If a devise distracts the driver or other students while the bus is in motion we will ask the student to turn the device off for the remainder of the trip. Repeated infractions relating to electronic devices on the bus will result in verbal communication to parents and/or disciplinary action up to and including suspension of bus privileges. BUS GUIDELINES 1. The front rows of the bus are reserved for students in the 4th grade or younger 2. Students in grades 5 - 8 are not allowed in the back four rows of the bus 3. Students must remain seated, out of the aisle, facing forward while the bus is in motion 4. When windows are open students must remain seated and inside the bus 5. There is no eating, drinking or gum chewing permitted on the bus 6. Foul and/or inappropriate language is not allowed on the bus at any time, voices must remain at an appropriate volume and telephone conversations are not permitted on the bus. 7. Pushing, fighting, rough playing or causing harm to one self or other riders is not allowed 8. Electronic devices must be silent kept in the owner’s possession and not cause the driver or other students to be distracted on the bus. See “Electronic Devices on the Bus” section above. 9. Driver has the ability to assign seats at any time if appropriate.
These rules will be strictly enforced to provide a safe environment on the bus
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES:
First Warning: The bus driver will verbally communicate with the student about the behavior. Depending on the severity the driver / TT may contact the parent / guardian.
Second Warning: The bus driver may move student(s), assign seats and bus contractor will contact the parents and the school of the situation. Disciplinary action may result with bus suspension of up to five (5) days. A parent conference may be required with the driver, student, TT to discuss the situation and status of future riding privileges.
Each situation will be handled individually and more severe situation can expedite the process and require immediate suspension or parent contact.
Gross misconduct or continued behavior issues may result in immediate loss of riding privileges. No refund of payment or release of this Transportation Contract will be offered for bus suspensions or expulsion from the bus. TRANSPORTATION COST / PAYMENT: The individual student annual cost for the 2014/15 School Year will be $1,800.00 or $180.00 per month for the ten month school year. We will provide a $20.00 per month discount for the 2nd and/or 3rd child for families with multiple children utilizing bus service or $160.00 per child per month. Bus registration is for the entire 2014 – 2015 school year beginning with the first day of school continuing through the last day of the academic school year in the spring of 2015. Parents are responsible for the full payment of the fees, regardless of the use of the service. If the number of bus riders does not warrant the costs involved in providing this service it may jeopardize the continuation of transportation service for the remainder of the school year beginning with the 1st of the following month. If service is discontinued payments received for service after discontinuation date will be refunded.
To expedite the payment process we require a debit/credit card payment for the monthly payment. Charges will be made on the 20th of each month to the authorized cards for the following month’s bus fee and will be reoccurring each and every month during the term of this Agreement. By executing this Agreement, you hereby consent to the use of the debit/credit card provided unless and until otherwise advised.
Based on individual family needs we can arrange other payment methods. A credit card will be required to establish credit for bus service, see credit card authorization form.
TRANSPORTATION PAYMENT SCHEDULE : Ten (10) equal monthly payments
August 2, 2014 Registration paperwork due back from families with payment required for the last month (10th payment) of service. August 20, 2014 First (1st) payment due – required before the start of the school year. TERMINATION OF SERVICE: Contractor reserves the right to terminate its agreement with an individual family and or the participants if monthly payment is not received according to the payment schedule above. Service will be denied on the 1st of the month for all students with delinquent accounts. Once payment is received and family account is current student(s) will be allowed to once again ride the bus.
