Organizing Authority
The International Catalina 30 Association and Catalina 30 Fleet 1 San Francisco, in conjunction with the South Beach Yacht Club are the organizing authorities.
Rules, Eligibility and Event Classification
The event will be governed by the IC30A bylaws and class specifications. The series races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2009 - 2012. The prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association (US Sailing) national authority will apply. Local PHRF allowances will be used for the handicap classes.
ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY All Catalina 30 and Catalina 309 boats with a valid International Catalina 30 Association measurement certificate and whose registered skipper is a member in good standing of the International Catalina 30 Association and their local Catalina 30 Fleet are eligible to race in the following classes subject to a three boat minimum in each class for separate starts. In accordance with Paragraph V.D. (changes to the of the International Catalina 30 Association By-Laws), if the number of entries does not allow separate starts for tall and standard rigging in any of the classes, then Tall and Standard Rigs shall be raced together in those classes. International Catalina 30 Association membership applications are available at www.catalina30.com , and will be available at the Check-In desk prior to the Regatta. In accordance with Paragraph V.M. of the International Catalina 30 Association By-Laws, all crewmembers must be Corinthians (amateur yachtsmen/women) except for the boat owner. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance. Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form and sending it to Cat30 Nationals Race Chair c/o South Beach Yacht Club by 2100 September 1st, 2009. The entry form can be found at www.southbeachyachtclub.org after April 1st, 2009. CLASSES. (as defined in bylaws) Both Standard Rig and Tall Rig divisions are initially offered in spinnaker racing, non-spinnaker racing, handicap and separate C309 classes.
FEES There will be a fee as shown on the entry form.
SCHEDULE Schedule of events will be available on www.southbeachyachtclub.org. Races dates will be September 18th, 19th & 20th, 2009. Skipper’s meeting to be held on September 18, 2009. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available by September 1st, 2009 on the SBYC Web Site (www.southbeachyachtclub.org.). Final SI will be handed out at the skipper’s meeting.
MEASURMENT Sail measurement is required. The skippers/owners of all competing boats must submit a valid certificate of measurement at the time their sails are being measured. Boats lacking a current measurement certificate may be measured when their sails are being measured.
THE COURSES The Regatta shall be South Bay and Central Bay waters of San Francisco Bay. Courses will use fixed marks, temporary inflatable marks and landmarks such as islands. Four races are scheduled, courses will be at the discretion of the Race Committee.
PRIZES A national champion will be declared within each class that starts. A Catalina 30 National Championship Regatta Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the owner of each national champion in each class that starts. Skippers will be awarded trophies for first, second, and third places in those classes with five or more entrants. Trophies for first and second will be awarded in classes with less than five entrants.

The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the races.
