Jenks West Jog-a-Thon: Our Jenks West Jog-a-Thon is coming up on Thursday, October 1st. We are thrilled with the community support and sponsorship this event has generated so far. All PK-4th grade students and staff will receive a free Jenks West Jog-a-Thon t-shirt to wear the day of the event. However, we need YOUR SUPPORT with donations. 100% OF DONATIONS GO DIRECTLY BACK TO PTAG TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS!!!! While ANY donation is appreciated, a donation of $30.00 per family is suggested in helping us reach our goal this year. As a reminder, this is our big fundraising event for the year!
While checks and cash are always welcomed, we have a new on-line link to our website for Jog-a- Thon donations. THE ONLINE LINK WILL CLOSE AT 6:00 A.M. FRIDAY MORNING (OCTOBER 2). CHECKS WILL CONTINUE TO BE ACCEPTED FRIDAY MORNING AS SCHOOL BEGINS. https://ok-jenks.intouchreceipting.com/signin.aspx Parents: Parents can use the student ID as the username and the student last name as the password. When student name pops up, choose “items at student’s school”. Click on “Jog-A- Thon Donations” link. Guest Users: There is also a link for guest users (grandparents, aunts/uncles, friends, etc.) to create a login on the sign-in page. Fall Conferences: If you have not already scheduled a time to meet with your child’s teacher, please do so. This is a great time for you to hear about how your child is progressing with reading, writing and mathematics. Conferences are generally scheduled the week of October 12-14 (including the evening of Tuesday, October 13th until 7:00pm).
Parental Input for Strategic Planning: Every three years, Jenks Public Schools conducts a strategic planning process to identify the district’s goals and strategic objectives. 2016 is the beginning of a new three-year cycle, and we want your feedback as the Board of Education and district administrators study our current levels of performance and look toward setting new goals for the future. During parent-teacher conferences, please look for a series of posters in our building entrances. These posters will ask you to identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for Jenks Public Schools. Strengths and Weaknesses are internal characteristics of our district, while Opportunities and Threats are things that exist externally that could affect the district. Later this year, employees and other community members will be invited to provide input as well, and the results of this “SWOT” Analysis will be presented to the school board for use in formulating the new district goals. Thanks in advance for your contribution to the continuous improvement of Jenks Public Schools. A Night of Wonder: Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for our upcoming West Elementary, NIghts of Wonder (See dates/building schedules below.) You will be able to visit our Book Fair and choose sessions in which you are most interested to attend. Teachers will be teaming up to present various options. For now, SAVE THE DATES BELOW.
