AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CERTIFIED ENGINEERING TECHNICIANS MEETING NOTICE

DATE: Thursday, May 10, 2007 (NOT OUR NORMAL SECOND MONDAY!) PLACE: FM Global Research Campus 743 Reynolds Road West Gloucester, Rhode Island TIME: 8:30 a.m. continental breakfast followed by Tour and Demonstrations Concluding at about 1:30 p.m. after lunch.

COST: NO CHARGE! FM Global is hosting the event!

FM GLOBAL RESEARCH CAMPUS TOUR AND DEMONSTRATIONS

Our tour will begin with an introduction to FM Global including a video highlighting FM Global innovations followed up by a virtual tour of the FM Global Research Campus. We will then tour the Fire Technology Small Burn Lab where we will witness a combustible liquid atomized spray fire demonstration, side-by-side sprinkler discharge comparisons and testing of a new welding blanket used as protection from a “severe spark shower”. We will then tour the Fire Technology Large Burn Lab and witness a Heptane pan fire demonstration, a rack storage (plastics) w/ESFR suppression demonstration and then a palletized plastics free burn. The on to the famous dust explosion!! After that we will tour the Natural Hazards Lab to witness a mechanically fastened roof sample uplift failure demonstration and then watch a cannon fire a 2x4 at 34 mph into 1/2” and then 3/4” plywood. Sounds like a time no one wants to miss!

Please note that you will need to get there on your own and will need to reserve by Monday, May 7, 2007. PLEASE NOTE THAT SPACE IS LIMITED AND RESERVATIONS WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED (with preference to members in good standing)!!!!
