This information is an important part of the consultative process between the local church, pastors, Bishop, and District Superintendent. Appointments are made with sensitivity to the Mission Field of the local congregation, the needs of the local church, the skills and effectiveness of pastors, and the mission of the Arkansas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

In order to collect and review as much information as possible for making mission field appointments, the cabinet is building a digital archive of worship services to learn more about pastors’ preaching styles.

For pastors serving in FULL-TIME appointments and PART-TIME CHURCHES WITH AVERAGE WORSHIPPING ATTENDANCE OF 35 OR MORE, please submit a digital recording of an entire worship service of your choosing that you have led. If you are satisfied with the recording you turned in last year you need do nothing. If you want to turn in a new recording please do so before December 15, 2017, in one of two ways:

1) Email a downloadable link to your sermon archive on your church website, a YouTube link, or similar to [email protected]. 2) See the next page for specific instructions on uploading your file. If necessary, you may send a thumb drive with a digital file of an entire worship service to Rebecca Davis at the Conference Office, 800 Daisy Bates Dr., Little Rock, AR 72202-3770. The thumb drive will be sent back to you if requested. 3) If you believe you will be unable to provide a digital recording of a worship service, please consult your district superintendent.
