LOCAL COLLEGE STUDENT EMPLOYMENT – GM ONSTAR This is an employment program for local college students (and soon-to-be local college students). The openings are for Customer Service Advisor’s for the firm (AdityaBirla-Minacs) which staffs GM’s OnStar call center at 13 mile road and Van Dyke (the GM Tech Center). They will be answering calls for OnStar. 30 + positions are currently open!

The plan is for full time employment through the summer and once college begins the employer will work around college schedules but will expect the employee to be available approximately 12 hours per week. I expect the pay to be $10 / hr to start. The employer is willing to consider capable and motivated candidates that graduate high school this year (must be 18). This could be an opportunity to work several full time summers and part time during college.

HERE ARE THE REQUIREMENTS AND HOW TO APPLY: *Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma (June grads ok). *Must be planning on attending college locally in the fall. *Must be available for full time summer employment – and part time once college starts (approx. 12 hrs + / wk) *Must complete the Adityabirla website including a resume and cover letter (all on-line) *Must put referred by Gary in the referral box

HERE IS WHAT THE EMPLOYER IS LOOKING FOR: 1 – Polite / courteous / willing to learn with a good G.P.A ( 3.0 or better) 2 – Customer service experience (not a “must have” –see note below)* 3 – Ability to type and basic computer skills 4 – Any community service (generally, being a helpful person) 5 –“Referred by Gary” in the web referral box (this is so they can identify the program candidates) *Again, do not be concerned about not having the required (or any) work experience. This is a pilot program for local college students and other achievements at school, attitude and motivation to succeed will be strongly considered.
