Call to Worship Luke 2:8-12

*Opening Hymn 251 It Came Upon a Midnight Clear

*Corporate Prayer of Confession Heavenly Father, our salvation rests upon the advent of your promised Christ. Though our lives are full of good intentions, too often they are also full of faulty steps. Though we profess to trust in you alone, too often we chase after other gods. We confess that our only hope is in Christ Jesus: in his life, death and resurrec- tion. May righteousness and forgiveness both be ours only by grace, in the name of the One who is the Word made flesh. Amen.

*Assurance of Forgiveness Romans 3:21-22

*Blessed Assurance 572 Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory di- vine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of his Spirit, washed in his blood. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long! This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long!

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
