Our Programme GM Apprenticeship Programme is an excellent opportunity for you to learn, earn and work towards your degree, all at the same time. Our programme has a flexible 3 to 5 year duration. It is delivered through a mix of day release, block release, work based learning, and independent self-study. The course provides you with an integrated blend of academic rigour and practical experience. You will be supported by a personal tutor at the University and an employer mentor in your workplace.

What to Expect Working as part of the global operations team, our IT analysts are responsible for ensuring that systems and services meet performance, stability and availability requirements of OnStar every day.

The identified apprentice will support operations and sustain services including:

 Assist application and system development activities in support of all production deployments – major release, minor release, and break/fix changes.  Ensure services from third-party suppliers are delivered with requisite quality and appropriate prioritization.  Provide support to IT operations and sustain activities, taking lead on specific activities as appropriate and driving them to completion. This will include, but is not limited to: o Analysing and troubleshooting vehicle communication and IT issues in support of customer cases. o Technical and User Testing for defect resolution and software release management. o Monitoring and reporting system availability and incidents. o Working with global colleagues and third party suppliers for incident management and resolution. o Supporting HQ and Call Centre teams in use, expansion and development of IT services.  Provide support to IT and/or business critical projects.  Provide support to IT and/or business process improvements.  Work with IT and business stakeholders to promote collaboration and information exchange.  Manage audit process for application access control.  Develop and maintain applications that support IT and / or business critical functions through the use of collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Sharepoint).  Proactively escalate issues and concerns that may impact IT or the business.

What we are looking for: To be considered for this programme, you should have the following:  GCSE English language and Mathematics at Grade C or above or equivalent qualifications  104 UCAS points (e.g. 2 GCE A Levels OR 1 BTEC Diploma) in any subject or equivalent  Good working knowledge on IT systems and passion to learn IT  Based and eligible to work in UK  Ability to travel within Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire areas. You might be required to travel within the area to attend training courses & events so flexibility is required  for candidates who not have enough points but have relevant experience or other qualifications, you will be assessed individually for eligibility.
