Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Dean, School of Dentistry. Founded in 1905, the School of Dentistry offers a program in general dentistry that prepares graduates to manage all phases of comprehensive dental care. The School of Dentistry enrolls approximately 340 students and its faculty is composed of 63 full-time and 129 adjunct and affiliate faculty members.
The dean will have an exceptional opportunity to continue Creighton’s 100+-year tradition of excellence in teaching and dental care and to advance the dental school’s status as a leader in research and academic scholarship. As the chief officer of academic administration, the dean is responsible for leadership and management of the dental school and reports to the vice president for Health Sciences.

Nominees and applicants must hold a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree and have a strong record as a teacher and scholar consistent with professorial rank. Preference will be given to candidates with significant academic administrative experience. Candidates should understand and support the mission of the school in its roles of teaching, research, patient care and community service, and be committed to the University’s goals of diversity, academic and clinical service excellence, research growth, and interprofessional education and practice. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2010, and continue until the dean is selected. The position is available July 1, 2011.
