Position Title: Oracle DBA Location: Washington, DC Duration: 6 months temp to perm

Lumen Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking an Oracle DBA for a temp to perm position in Washington, DC.

As a member of the DBA team, the Database administrator has complete responsibility over the data management for all Data Center controlled databases. The Database Administrator will control the platform's strategies for database performance, sizing, tuning, upgrades, security and high availability/failover. DUTIES: Install, configure, upgrade, migrate and patch Oracle 9i/10gR2/11g databases in heterogeneous environment. • Extensive experience in a production Oracle 9i/10gR2/11g environment including RAC, PL/SQL, OEM Grid control, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Partitioning, database tuning and troubleshooting. • Plan, implement and maintain Disaster Recovery methodology for all production databases • Act as Manager/Team Lead for other Database Administrators • Work with technical architects to ensure data model meets the platform’s requirements for the business and technical perspective. • Define business object/database table mappings and structures, fail-over strategies and distributed data strategies. • Ensure database objects (views, stored procedures, triggers, constraints, etc.) and SQL statements meet performance and security objectives. • Ensure database migration scripts and programs meet data integrity, performance and security objectives. • Maintain and publish the database installation/operation guide and other pertinent documentation • Develop, review and enforce database standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE: • A minimum of 5 years DBA experience on large-scale enterprise applications, including distributed and J2EE applications in a large development environment. • Demonstrated experience translating conceptual design and object models into logical and physical data models • In depth knowledge of and experience with Oracle 9i, 10gR2, an 11g RAC on UNIX/Solaris including database performance analysis • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation and organizational skills and ability to make decisions for a highly available production environment. • Experience with Operational Support System (OSS) development would be an asset.
