Note: Loyola’s program requires at least 7 semester hours of practicum experiences, equivalent to at least 400 hours of DNP practice experiences, depending on the student’s background and career goals. Additional practicum hours may be required to meet the national accreditation requirement of a minimum of 1000 post-baccalaureate supervised clinical hours for the DNP degree.

Students admitted with a master’s degree in an area other than nursing will be evaluated on an individual basis. At a minimum, students will be required to take three courses (master’s core) to lay the foundation for DNP course work and to meet the Master’s Essentials on which the DNP curriculum is based. These courses are: GNUR 401-Nursing Concepts and Theories (3 SH), GNUR 402-Ethics for Health Professionals (2 SH), GNUR 450-Research for Health Professionals (3 SH).
