Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley 2013 Facts & Figures

 282 calls for services  54 individuals in Network and growing rapidly  30 children ranging from infancy to 17 years of age  26 congregations  Over 1400 volunteers  5639 volunteers hours at churches  591 volunteer hours for the board members  16 new families have entered the program  The average stay in network was 71 days  75% of the families where headed by single parents  85% of the families head of household was employed full-time within 28 days of entering the network  70% of individuals served were children  Aftercare services include dozens of “graduated families.” Graduated families are those that have moved into their own permanent housing arrangements but still utilize our programs and receive case management from Family Promise.

The Education Factor

FPYV is growing its over-all education program to meet both adults and children’s needs for in Network and Aftercare Programs. FPYV tries its best to determine what the next year will look like based on the previous years' demographics. The 2013 trending is an overall increase in babies and children in our program. The FPYV staff is seeing a greater need to provide additional education for our adults including workshops on parenting, coping during a crisis, cooking classes and menu preparation as well as more advanced budgeting classes.

The Education Enrichment program will allow Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley to provide additional programs and more extensive training on academic, educational and parenting needs as well as enrichment activities to promote family bonding, social interaction and exposure to music, animals, and art to help children become aware of different interests, hobbies and careers our community has to offer.

Aftercare is part of the Family Promise program that focuses on families that have moved into their own homes but still receive case management and enrichment / educational services. While these families are continuously developing skills to maintain independence, FPYV works with them to sustain independence so they do not end up homeless again.
