Contest Areas Contest Descriptions  Livestock Judging- Participants in this contest cannot participate in other 6 classes with 3 reasons classes contest areas. Jr. – 9-12 yr. olds Int. – 13-15 yr. olds Contact Jared Givens for more information. Sr. – 16-19 yr. olds Registration at Ag Sciences Barn  Ag Mechanics- Bring gloves, safety glasses, pliers, helmets, speed square, and soap stone  Only One Jr. and One Sr. four man team Participants in this contest cannot participate in other per chapter. JR. team 8-10 and Sr. 11-12. contest areas.  Seniors-Tool ID and Written Test (written test comes from CIMC Contact Dale Goodwin for more information ,CDE book, all chapters) Cutting and welding exercise following a blueprint as a 4 man team.  Juniors- written test taken from CIMC units 1,2, and 3.SMAW Welding (at Tonkawa FFA Building), Butt Weld and Lap Weld with 6011 welding rod.

 Meat Science- 30 Retail Cut ID and 3 Retail Cut Placing Classes. Beef, Pork or Lamb cuts possible. Participants in this contest cannot participate in other contest areas.  Food Science & Technology Written test taken from CIMC CDE book Unit # 1. Also will Sensory and Written Test be a Sensory Evaluation on Aroma’s, Difference testing, and Taste testing. Students should send a cover letter and resume with entry by January 24th. An application will be filled out at the contest. The contest is developed to help students in their current agriculturally-related job search. Therefore the cover letter and resume submitted by the student must reflect their current skills and abilities while still a student in high school. This job should be one that they can do while still in high school.
