Binder: Each student will have a binder. It is very important that each student gets to class in a timely manner to begin working on the warm-up. All notes, handouts, worksheets, homework assignments, quizzes, test reviews, and any other material from this class are to be kept in the notebook in an organized manner. The notebook will be a critical tool used to study for quizzes, tests, and the semester exams. The binder will be graded twice per 6 weeks. Each student will receive a rubric so they will know what is expected of them in their binder.

Calculators: Students will often be given access to graphing calculators during class. Calculators will not be used during every class. The calculators are a privilege and should be treated with respect and returned at the end of class time in the same condition as when borrowed. There are also a limited number of calculators available in the library to be checked out just as a library book would be checked out.

Cell Phones: Students will place their cell phones inside the pocket where their calculators are located upon arrival to class each day. If cell phones will be used during the lesson, Mrs. Skinner will allow you to keep your cell phone at your desk.

Homework: Homework is an integral part of the learning process; therefore, it is important that students complete every homework assignment carefully and thoroughly. Students must show all work on every homework assignment! Even if a student has difficulty with a homework problem or assignment, he or she should still attempt every problem. No problems should be left blank. In addition, homework must be completed BEFORE coming to class. Homework may be collected or may be assessed with quizzes.

Missing Work Policy: If a student has 3 or more missing assignments, or zeros, he or she will be put in ISS until he or she has completed all the missing assignments. This includes the assignment the student missed due to being in ISS.

Make-Up Work: It is the student’s responsibility to get and complete all work missed due to absence. A student that misses class due to extracurricular activities is not considered absent and must have assignments completed when due. It is the student’s responsibility to check on assignments that they will be missing while out with an extracurricular activity BEFORE they leave school. If a student is absent, they should copy any missed work from the assignment board and get any handouts. Make-up work should not be completed during class! Students that are absent due to illness will have one day for each day of absence to complete their make-up work. Please note that a student who does not make up assigned work within the time allotted will receive a grade of zero for the assignment. The maximum grade a student may receive for any work assigned when the student has an unexcused absence is 70.

Late Work: Late work will be accepts ONE DAY late for a maximum grade of 70. Homework will NOT be accepted more than one day late.

Tutorials: If you are struggling with the material in class, it is very important that you ask for help! I am available most days before and after school for extra help. There may be instances where I have other commitments and am not in my room. Discipline Plan: All students are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous, respectful, and responsible manner while at Holliday High School. All rules listed in the Student Handbook will be enforced at all times in my classroom. Students must also follow all classroom rules and procedures.

Grading Policy: Your grade will be broken into the following categories. 50% Tests 25% Quizzes 25% Homework
