Creating a Voicethread presentation of your own is a very serious responsibility. When you create a Voicethread, you become responsible for all of the content that is created on your thread. That includes the images that are posted, the comments that you make AND the comments that are added by the people who view your thread.

Each day, you’ll need to check the new comments that are added to your thread and either approve them, delete them, or—if they are inappropriate or make you feel uncomfortable—share them with your teacher so the person responsible can be found.

If you are not willing to do this kind of work—or to take responsibility for ensuring that the work posted in your conversation is appropriate for our school—THEN DON’T CREATE ANY THREADS OF YOUR OWN! You can still participate in the threads created by your teachers without owning any conversations that you are responsible for.

If you are really jazzed about moderating a conversation or using Voicethread for a project of your own, answer the following questions and turn this permission slip in to your teacher:

Describe the purpose for your thread. What topic will it cover? What subject does this thread align with? Why is this topic so interesting to you or your peers?

Will your thread be open for comments from others? Please explain where you are going to get the images for your conversation. Remember that you Yes No MUST use pictures that are not protected by copyright laws! If yes, please list the real names and screen names of the students that you plan to invite to join your conversation:
