5. FAIR AUCTION REVIEW: DISCUSSION TOPICS: Karissa presented an updated version of the survey of many of the Oregon Fairs (approximately 30 counties participated in the survey) with regard to Fair related Animal Auctions. A copy was provided for all members to review further and come back with questions. A model common in other counties is a 501c3 organization manages the Auction. The boards for these 501c3s usually consist of community members at large (adult and youth) as voting members. These boards also typically include a 4-H advisory member, FFA advisory member, often a Livestock Association and Fair Board advisory members as well. ACTIONS/DIRECTION: As two of the board members were absent and the Lane County Livestock Association was not represented, the board opted for a work session/meeting on Monday, December 1st at 5 pm here at LEC for further discussion and with the intention of making a decision on what Auction Model will be used going forward. Karissa will send staff and Fair Board members By-Laws for several other highly functioning boards in Oregon counties such as Tillamook, Deschutes, Linn etc. for consideration in this discussion. 6. FAIR REPORT DRAFT REVIEW DISCUSSION TOPICS: Sasha advised she thought it is concise, detailed while celebrating our successes. ACTION/DIRECTION: Rachel will resend to all board members with the request for feedback to be provided prior to the joint Fair Board and BCC meeting upcoming in December.

7. OTHER DISCUSSION: Joint meeting schedule OFA convention is coming up January 8-10 in Salem in case the Fair Board members would like to join staff. ACTION/DIRECTION: Corey will reach out to finalize the date for the joint meeting Staff will send Fair Board members the schedule for OFA before registering so they can decide if they are interested in attending.
