JOB TITLE: SCOTTISH GOLF DEVELOPMENT CENTRE PROJECT MANAGER

REPORTS TO: CLUBGOLF MANAGER

EMPLOYED BY: CLUBGOLF SCOTLAND LIMITED

FIXED TERM TO 31 DECEMBER 2015

Main purpose of Job:

 To lead the ongoing implementation and rollout of Scottish Golf’s Development Centres, supported by ClubGolf and the delivery of ClubGolf’s Stage 3 programme  To develop and maintain the online coaching resource for coaches and players within the Development Centre programme  To guide and support facility development planning and funding applications for proposed Development Centre facilities, in accordance with the Scottish Golf Facilities Plan  To maintain and manage relationships with clubs, facilities, coaches, parents and players  To work alongside the Performance Development Manager in maintaining and building relationships with Area and County representatives  To manage the Development Centre budget and related financial management  To monitor and evaluate the Development Centre programme, providing reports as required and ensuring high standards of quality coaching delivery are being maintained throughout.

Position in organisation:

The post holder will report directly to the ClubGolf Manager, but will work closely with the ClubGolf Regional Managers, the Scottish Golf Performance Development Manager, PGA’s Coach Education and Development Manager and other teams within Scottish Golf.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 Chair and lead the Development Centre working group ensuring actions are recorded, completed and deadlines and timelines are kept on track  Manage relevant parts of the ClubGolf budget and related financial procedures  Plan and project manage the future rollout of the programme with key timelines identified for each stage of the process i.e. facility, coach and player recruitment  In conjunction with the ClubGolf PR and Media Executive and SGU PR and Media Executive, determine an effective communication plan, targeting all key audiences  To identify and secure suitable facilities as future Development Centres in the next two phases, guiding and supporting funding applications where appropriate  Working alongside the PGA Coach Education and Development Manager, ensure all coach recruitment information is effectively communicated In line with the communication plan, continue to promote the programme to players parents/carers through a range of networks including, Clubs and Area and Counties  Plan and organise assessment days for players as required working alongside the Performance Development Manager, ensure Development Centres are effectively promoted as an exit opportunity for players from the Academy programme In consultation with the PGA Coach Education and Development Manager and supported by the ClubGolf Administrator, plan and organise the Coach Induction days  Ensure all key contacts and key audiences are communicated with, as appropriate  Coordinate a centralised education programme and deployment of support services to facilitate this delivery  Ensure the principles of Positive Coaching Scotland are embedded throughout the programme for Development Centres  Manage the development and day to day administration of the Development Centre section of the Xoolon online resource. Ensure all evaluation, monitoring and tracking information is returned and recorded on time and provide regular reports on progress as required  Authorise the payment for coaches, as appropriate, in line with the above bullet point General Duties and responsibilities:

Qualifications:

 Applicants must hold a degree level qualification or equivalent. As the post involves a significant amount of travelling, applicants must hold a full current driving licence and will be provided with a company vehicle. Expenses will be reimbursed when travelling on company business.

Experience and Knowledge required:

 Excellent knowledge and understanding of the ClubGolf programme and the Scottish Golf player pathway  Understand the importance of Coach education and supporting the development of coaches  Excellent written communication skills  Excellent verbal communication skills  Experience of working to tight deadlines  High degree of computer literacy

Miscellaneous:

 The postholder will be expected to work remotely from a home office base  The role will involve some work at weekends and evenings and will require significant travel around the country  A salary reflecting the post holders experience and position within the organisation will be offered.
