Public Participation/Recognition:

Advisor Judy Martin and FCCLA members Dani Smith and Alaina Kirkbride gave a presentation of their community service project “Change for Life” which they will present at the National FCCLA Conference.

Rebecca Norris spoke about the Frazeysburg Grant Information.

Sixth grade students from Molly Orr’s class presented their projects from Ohio History Day Competition.

Personnel Items:

Administrative:

Issued a two year limited contract to Patrick Hopkins as assistant principal at Tri-Valley Middle School for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 school years.

Certified:

Approved the maternity leave request of Tobi Doyle, Nashport 4th grade teacher. Mrs. Doyle’s leave will begin on August 30 and continue for 12 consecutive weeks.

Approved a one year teaching contract to Jennifer Archer for the 2008-09 school year as the elementary PACE teacher.

Issued a one year teaching contract to Jonathan Kelsey for the 2008-09 school year as elementary music instructor.

Issued a one year teaching contract to Sarah Whitford as the Agricultural Vocational teacher @ TVHS for the 2008-09 school year. Accepted the resignation of Josh Wright, TVHS Language Arts teacher, effective at the beginning of the 08-09 school year.

Classified:

Accepted the resignation of Julie Huffman as educational aide at Adamsville Elementary at the end of the 07-08 school year.

Issued a one year contract to Julie Huffman as part-time (3.5 hrs.) secretary at Adamsville Elementary for the 2008-09 school year.

Recommended one year limited contracts to the following personnel for the 2008-09 school year:

Granted a supplemental contract to Betty Maurer as Frazeysburg Intermediate School Volunteer Coordinator from 10/25/07 to the end of the 2007-08 school year (replaced Katie West).

Issued an administrative stipend to Heather Welch for 07-08 summer school coordinator in the amount of $2,500.00.

Approved an administrative stipend to Jamie Campbell as EMIS Coordinator for the 2008-09 school year in the amount of $6,000.

Approved an administrative stipend to Jean Lahna as 2008-2009 District Test Coordinator in the amount of $2,000.

Approved a supplemental contract to Jonathan Kelsey as assistant marching band director for the 2008-09 school year. Approved the following recommendations for 07-08 summer school instructors (will be based on actual enrollment). Non-certified personnel will be used only if enrollment necessitates.

Superintendent’s Report:

Approved all Professional Leave Requests.

Granted approval for FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) members, Dani Smith and Alaina Kirkbride to attend the National FCCLA Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL on July 11-17, 2008 to present their community service project “Change for Life”. Advisor Judy Martin will be attending and transportation will be organized by the Ohio FCCLA.

Granted approval for 2008-09 membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Approved the Non-Public School Services Agreement with Zanesville City Schools for the 2008-09 school year.

Approved the 2008 Tri-Valley High School Graduation List.

Approved the OAPSE contract from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2011.

Accepted the bid withdrawal from ASTAR Abatement for the demolition of Frazeysburg Intermediate and Jefferson Elementary (annex).

Approved Lepi Enterprises as lowest responsible bidder for asbestos removal at Frazeysburg Intermediate and Jefferson Elementary (annex) for a total contract price of $119,383.

Approved Gateway Environmental Service, Inc. as lowest responsible bidder for the demolition of Frazeysburg Intermediate School and Jefferson Elementary (annex) bid package in the amount of $247,500.
