U6-U7 Instructional (In-Town Development)

The Piscataway Soccer Club offers an Instructional program, for children who are typically in Kindergarten and 1st Grade. The fall and spring sessions are held outdoors at the Piscataway New Market Soccer Complex.

Locations:  Fall– at the New Market Soccer Complex

 Spring– at the New Market Soccer Complex and Green Acres Soccer Complex

Registration: Is on-line at www.PiscatawaySoccer.org. Applications are accepted on a first come / first serve basis according to the on-line registration timestamp. Programs can/will be limited based on the number of volunteer coaches in a particular age group. Forms cannot be faxed, emailed or dropped off. Please note that there are no refunds.

Interested players must complete their registration by the deadline for each season. You must provide a valid e-mail address so that a confirmation of your registration and schedule can be sent to you.

League Schedule: Club provided training sessions run for 10 weeks typically on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays. The team coach (a volunteer) will have a second training session during the week based on availability. There will be games scheduled on Saturdays.

Cost: Registration is $130 per season. 2 Uniform shirts will be provided. (You DO NOT need to buy a uniform for this program.)

Player Equipment: All players must wear shin guards with soccer socks that cover them. Players should also bring a size #3 soccer ball and a water bottle to all practices and games.

Eligibility: Children must be born between the dates indicated on the age chart to participate in this program (http://www.piscatawaysoccer.org/docs/Soccer_Age_Chart.pdf). No exceptions for age are made. Any child born before or after these dates can participate in the club’s other age appropriate programs.

Snacks: Parents should bring their own child’s water/sports drink. No "team snack" will be provided, although your team manager may wish to coordinate one.

Teams: Your child will be placed on a team at random. U6’s play 4v4 while U7’s play 5v5 based on registration totals. Game scores are NOT recorded. Our Instructional / in-Town Developmental program is geared toward having fun, socializing, while learning about the game of soccer. We respect and understand the attention span and physical limitations of the children in this age range. This program is not about making polished players, but instead, it is our hope that the kids will have FUN, become a bit more fit, and learn about themselves and others through the game of soccer. We will be instructing the children in basic ball skills in addition to the basic rules of the game.

At this age level, A RESPONSIBLE ADULT IS REQUIRED TO STAY DURING ALL SESSIONS. Please keep this in mind when registering.

Parent Participation: Your involvement is highly encouraged. A parent is required to volunteer as the Head Coach to coordinate team activities. The club will provide a training session for your team run by a soccer professional. You are encouraged to can run a second training session each week. To help you, we will provide access to 1-page training sessions that are ready to printed and taken to the field. You do not need a soccer background or specific soccer knowledge to coach at this level. You are, however, required to take a beginner’s coaching class prior to or just after your first season coaching.
