The percentage of underrepresented minority (URM) students in physical therapist education programs continues to be alarmingly low. Not only do all students benefit with a diverse student body, but increased quality of care is the ultimate result of this diversity. In light of the recent Supreme Court decision upholding the ruling to allow universities to use race-based admission decisions, the physical therapy profession must act to enhance the inclusion of URM students. In this session, the lack of diversity will be discussed and strategies for enhancement will be presented.
