Spring Semester 2011 APPLICATION

P.E.O. is a philanthropic educational organization where women celebrate the advancement of women, educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate each other to achieve their highest aspirations.

P.E.O. has chapters in all 48 states in Canada. Freeport has three P.E.O. chapters—Chapter BE, Chapter IY and Chapter LI. Besides supporting the organization’s projects, the three Freeport Chapters locally sponsor annual scholarships for nontraditional women students pursing higher education at Highland Community College.

The scholarships are available annually for recipients attending spring semester at Highland Community College. Scholarship awards average about $400 for each recipient and are nonrestrictive in use.

Priorities for selection:

A. Financial need is a consideration. B. Must be a "non-traditional" female student.
